Things have been getting pretty hectic over here at the Global Garden Friends headquarters. The team has been scrambling around it the attempt to fill our first REAL round of purchase orders from our distributors.

When I say scrambling, I mean individuals on the team running from their desks to the shipping department in full sprint to pass on a new set of shipping guidelines. Oh well, you live and you learn, right? Nobody is perfect and could have possibly predicted each and every aspect of a new project. We take what we learn and carry this knowledge over for the next round of orders.

This is a pretty common strategy over here at GGF: we jump into new situations with the enthusiasm and optimism. We have to compensate for this lack of understanding somehow. Well, it’s pretty simple: we consult the internet. Google has become our greatest asset. We look to the “big G” for advice in almost every area of business when ambiguity arises.

This is because none of us have what you would call “experience” with this product-based business stuff. I mean some of us studied business in school and others have worked IN business for a long period of time, but owning and operating? Nope. And we are completely fine with that. We actually believe that this gives us an edge, an advantage in some ways. Inexperience allows us to explore different options fearlessly, without the doubt and skepticism of someone who has been there done that.

I wish you could see the activity between these walls. It’s a pretty sight if you enjoy hard work and the uncertainty of the small business world. If you’re like me, it will bring a smile to your face.
